AFCS & War Pension claims
The AFCS replaced the War Pensions Scheme for injuries sustained after April 2005.
If the period of exposure which resulted in your exposure pre-dates that time you will probably qualify for a War Pension. The Royal British Legion offer free assistance with your application which is made through the Veterans Agency.
If your injuries are as a result of exposure after April 2005 and ultimately lead to your medical discharge you will automatically be entered into the AFCS. The VA will then contact you accordingly.
The CIAG are able to advise you as to the adequacy of any offer received and help you, free of charge, in making a claim or appealing an award already made.
