Immigration issues
Kefas originates from Zimbabwe and had to go through the process of applying for indefinite leave to remain as a result of his discharge. He will be happy to talk you through the process and discuss his personal experiences with you.
The Group were instrumental in bringing the claim for Soldier A to the attention of the nation. This unfortunate case culminated in a BBC Radio 4 report on 24th October 2007. In response to the same, the Home Office amended their policy and the situation for Commonwealth Soldiers injured in active conflict is much more favourable. Unfortunately the policy does little to affect the rights of those injured in training accidents, although the Home Office now state they look at each case individually and on its merits.
The Group also works closely with Elite Solicitors, a Bristol firm specialising in Immigration Issues. Melissa Toney of Elite Solicitors is happy to discuss you immigration status with you free of charge.
Please note that the CIAG are unable to help you with any legal fees incurred as a result of any immigration applications or appeals. Elite Solicitors are completely independant of the CIAG and make no payment to us in return for any referrals they receive.
